Frederick Wingate tall case clock c1813. This is a very early date for this Augusta, Maine, clockmaker. Wingate was born in Haverhill, MA, in 1782. He settled in Augusta, ME, and married Hannah Page in 1806. He died in 1864. The face dial features a seconds dial and calendar aperture, in addition to the maker's number, name, place, and date. The numbers and letters look clear, which is very important because they were painted with India ink, and were often inadvertantly washed off during cleaning. The arched fretwork and 3 brass finials are typical of this maker's cases. Measures 92 inches tall.

Gustav Becker Miniature Vienna Regulator. This is an extremely rare Gustav Becker sub miniature Vienna regulator clock. This clock is very good running condition. Runs for two days on one winding. Time only. Superb quality Gustav Becker movement. The front of the case is extremely unusual in that it is made of some type of gutta percha, otherwise known as paper mache. Looks and feels like carved wood. It is in very good condition with the exception of a hairline crack in the front right hand of the case. Beautiful original pendulum, two piece porcelain dial and porcelain beat scale. There is a hairline crack in the dial from below the twelve to the center hand shaft that is not very noticeable. This has to be Has to be one of Gustav Becker’s rarest clocks. Comes with key. Height 17 in., Width 6 in., Depth 3 in., dial diameter 2 5/8 in. Truly a museum piece.
